Our School
Our school’s primary mission is to support Ukrainian culture and introduce it to all those who might be interested in learning more about it. Our school conducts classes in three main areas: Ukrainian culture, medieval crafts, and Christian ethics. We are always happy to organize special classes for visiting schools from across the country.
We invite students between the ages of 4 and 17 to our Saturday School to study Ukrainian language, ethnography, cooking, and much more together with us. To demonstrate Ukrainian folk traditions and crafts, we teach children how to work with their hands. Along the way, children can learn how to carve their own toys, paint traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs, write books, or even study the basics of gardening in our small courtyard. Students can also learn several medieval crafts including calligraphy, papermaking, and printmaking. To teach Christian ethics, we offer various lectures and performances in our very own Morality Puppet Theater.
Our regular lessons start every Saturday at 11:00 in the Ukrainian Cultural Center. Our languages of instruction are: Ukrainian, Estonian, and Russian. As our Saturday School is generously sponsored by the Integration Foundation (before that it was the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research), all our lessons are free of charge.
